I have been MIA
Now I am sitting in a hotel in Anchorage after trading in the truck (we miss you blue). Anchorage has at least double the amount of dealerships than Fairbanks. FB does not have a VW dealer. So we drove the 8 hours. We are now proud owner of a dark blue jetta TDI. We will get 50 miles to the gallon when we make the exodus out of Alaska back down to the L48. Yukon Quest (A happy 8 degrees ABOVE 0)
Yesterday we went to the Yukon Quest. We were so excited that it was back up here, headed toward Whitehorse this year!
Lance Mackey has been the first across the Yukon Quest finish line 4 times in his career and first to finish the Iditarod 3 times. He has struggled with addiction and won while battling cancer. In 2007 he won both races in the same year.

Today I caved...
I tried the gluten filled cake yumminess. It was divine… I have not had cake cake in - a long time. Now I am paying. Thanks cake. Ugh.
How are we going to work the whole feeding each other cake when I can not eat from the part we cut off the big gluten filled one? Hide a plate of the GF in the corner? Ugh.
They are going to find me in a corner with a bread basket and the cake topper eating...

Tonight we get to broach the topic of when the wedding shower will be. We will also have to discuss how the MONTH long fishing trip/exodus to the lower 48 will need to be cut in half, because of when the shower needs to be.
I am not a horrible wife; I have a delusional husband. With his brother’s wedding this summer, my cousins wedding, and our own wedding there is just not time for this...
I'd rather see you once a month than someone else...

Are somethings a lost cause?
This has been weighing on my mind for a while now. I have a person from college that I was VERY good friends with. We did everything together, and lived a few doors down from each other our the house. It ended up that our parents only lived 10 minutes from each other, so we spent the summers together also. She was one of the people I thought I would for sure have in my wedding party....

The perfect dress
I follow a lot of girls getting married on here. It seems like one of the biggest and most overwhelming things is finding the dress… Here are some suggetions I have:
1. Bring as few people to the dress salons as possible (eg. your mom, OR your sister, OR your best friend), and make sure that person knows you well and has your interests as theirs for the mission.

18 and over?
I am at a delima, we were intending to have the wedding invite list be 18 and over, except my nephew (the ringbearer!!) There are just too many kids in the extended family, it would be an extra 25 people to invite. A lot of money.
